The non-profit organization “Pensioners’ Opportunities Center” presents a unique 600 km solo kayak expedition across Latvia. Visitors can explore the route, try smart safety technology ALEX DigiGuard, and participate in a discussion about the ecological state of Latvian rivers and the potential of the “Silver Economy.”
The expedition is not just a sporting challenge for a 62-year-old kayaker with a second-degree disability — it is a social mission. The project includes an ecological survey of the Rēzekne River, identification of obstacles to fish migration, and searching for the legendary boats from the film “The Namejs Ring.”
At the exhibition stand, visitors can see the expedition equipment, digital navigation solutions, and certificates of support from high-ranking state officials. The expedition demonstrates that seniors can be wise, active, and technologically empowered.
The non-profit organization “Pensioners’ Opportunities Center” (PIC) promotes social inclusion and an active lifestyle for seniors and people with disabilities. Our pride is the personal AI assistant ALEX DigiGuard, serving as a safety guarantee and cognitive enhancer for people with special needs.
