At the exhibition Māja I 2026, the University of Latvia will showcase that its expertise lies not only in conducting fundamental research and providing higher education but also in delivering high-quality services to the industry.

Institute for Numerical Modelling – Engineering and physics-based services for improving building energy efficiency and indoor comfort.
Department of Geology – Application of geophysical methods for assessing building foundations, development of underground 3D digital twins, and vibration measurement equipment.
Innovation and Acceleration Center of the University of Latvia – Accredited methods available in the University of Latvia laboratories and collaboration opportunities in research and innovation projects.

Institute for Numerical Modelling
• Neural network solutions for building systems management.
• Wireless networks for monitoring thermal comfort and the durability of building structures.
• Laboratory testing of thermal properties of building materials and structures.
• A wide range of engineering-physics measurements (U-values, airtightness, air exchange, thermography, etc.) carried out in situ to improve building energy efficiency.
• Building energy certification.
• Numerical modelling of heat and moisture dynamics and thermal bridges in building structures.

Department of Geology
• A short video insight into everyday work and laboratory activities, together with information about the capabilities of the geotechnical investigation laboratory at the University of Latvia.
• Demonstrations will include the concept of an underground digital twin as well as practical examples of geological work carried out in the construction sector.
• A vibration sensor will be displayed to demonstrate the importance of measuring vibration levels at construction sites.
