Skola 2018 attendance continues to grow!

The 24th International Education Fair "Skola 2018" was attended by 20,752 eager visitors looking for information on the opportunities to study in Latvia and abroad. The three-day event at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre closed on 25 February.

The education fair presented 140 participants from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Great Britain, Germany, France, Denmark, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Russia, Australia, Canada and the United States. Educational institutions of Uzbekistan were represented for the first time at “Skola 2018”.

During three event days, 23–25 February, visitors enquired about the study programmes offered by universities in Latvia and other countries, technical colleges, training centres and other educational institutions. Visitors also sought information on interest-related education, language and other courses, language and leisure camps. Educators, persons responsible and parents in turn used the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest study aids, school furniture and uniforms.

Young people used the opportunity to interview students and lecturers on new study programmes, state-funded study places, exchange and internship programmes, as well as extra-curricular activities. Visitors were enthusiastically taking part in different activities held by participants trying hands in different professions.

“Young people become more focused – they carefully acquaint themselves with participant offering and plan their visit to the fair. There is an increasing number of 7–8 graders and their parents visiting the fair, to get more information about certain professions and evaluate further study options,” tells Valts Jirgensons, the manager of “Skola 2018”.

The exhibition as every year was complemented by variety of educational and inspirational events, for instance, the “Be a Leader!” conference held by the Riga State Technical School that was widely attended. Parents and educators, in turn, took the opportunity to attend educational seminars and lectures.

Many thanks to all participants of “Skola 2018” for their valuable contribution to this project making it more versatile, professional and useful!

See you again in the 25th anniversary edition of “Skola” – 1–3 March 2019!
