BT1 International Expo Company has an incredible 30-year track record in the expo industry. Over the years, company has evolved into the leading expo company in the Baltics, managing the largest trade fairs in sectors like food, construction, beauty, tourism, education, engineering, metalworking, technologies and many more.
Each year BT1 organises around 17 major fairs with around 300–400 exhibiting companies from 20 global countries.
In 2024 BT 1 managed 17 trade fairs for 2,968 business exhibitors, attracting 280,595 visitors. Number of exhibiting companies decreased slightly compared to 2023, but the number of visitors grew by 2 %.
Riga Food, the food industry trade fair, has been growing since 2021, both in terms of participating business and number of visitors. Riga Food 2024 brought together 425 companies from 32 countries, whereas number of visitors reached 21,806, the highest level in past three years.
Medbaltica, the international healthcare trade fair, has also been going through major growth in past three years. Compared to 2021, in 2024 number of visitors was up by 39%, number of countries had doubled and trade fair had attracted 67% more visitors.
Baltic Motor Show Riga Auto, Māja I and Baltic Beauty are the three frontrunners each year in terms of visitors, with the average of 30,000 visitors attending each fair every year.
Exhibitions organised by BT1 in Ķīpsala reflect current trends and developments across various industries here in Latvia, the Baltics and the world. Industry shifts not only influence, but in fact shape the content and delivery of the fair.
BT1 is working in close conjunction with professional associations across various fields and they often take part in managing fairs. Participation of associations gives push to businesses and the economy. Associations take care of professional content, boosting the confidence of local and international businesses.
Foreign companies generally make up for around 25% of exhibitors of BT1’s trade fairs organised annually, whereby foreign visitors account for estimated 20% of all visitors.
Businesses from abroad use the trade fairs as the platform for reaching their business objectives of exploring the Baltic market, meeting industry professionals, finding potential cooperation partners, introducing their products and brands to the market, as well as other goals.
In terms of country representation at the BT1 fairs, the biggest countries in 2024 were Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Armenia, USA, Georgia, Italy, the UK, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, Turkey, Ukraine, Sweden, followed by other countries, the total of 55 world countries.
