In mid-October, the exhibition “Baltic Beauty 2022”, the Baltics’ largest beauty festival, successfully concluded at Ķīpsala International Exhibition Centre, with 249 companies from 15 countries presenting the latest trends in beauty care in two halls - the “World of Beautiful Hair” and the “World of Beautiful Face and Body”.
“Three very busy and exciting days have passed, bringing positive emotions, joy and lots of new ideas for the next exhibition! It’s great to see that the beauty industry is finally recovering after two difficult years. This was reflected in the content of the exhibition, in the activities at the exhibitors’ stands, and in the visitors’ interest in being present at the beauty festival in Ķīpsala,” says Kristīne Čerņavska, head of “Baltic Beauty”.
23 783 visitors from 15 countries enjoyed the beauty festival at Ķīpsala International Exhibition Centre, 11 332 of which were professional visitors. 70% of the total “Baltic Beauty 2022” exhibition was made up of products for beauty professionals - professional cosmetics, tools and equipment. Many companies presented their new brands, products and services directly at the exhibition and offered their samples!
Versatile events for professionals
This year, Baltic Beauty held five conferences, seven master classes and 35 professional competitions. Including a masterclass by the internationally recognised “WAHL Artistic Team” trainer, practising master Enes Dogan (Germany) on fashionable cuts for women and men in 2023.
Young talents and experienced masters demonstrated their skills, flair and originality in the beauty industry’s professional competitions. As usual, the XXV International Hairstyling Festival, a major professional competition, took place at the fair, bringing together hairdressers and hairdressing school students from Latvia and abroad for the twenty-sixth time. The image school-studio “Unastyle” held the “Creative Make-up” competition, in which participants had to come up with creative out-of-the-box make-up, and the first-ever Paese “colour smoky eyes” competition, in which participants had to create modern and tasteful make-up for the evening.
The five conferences brought together international and local experts to present and share their experiences on current industry trends. Latvian Association of Cosmetologists and Cosmeticians and “GMT Beauty Trade” organised a conference “The Beauty Industry: from Product Innovation to Future Market Change”, where you could learn about the latest developments in raw materials and preservatives and the latest trends in the field of active ingredients. The “Dalila Beauty Conference”, organised by “Dalila Beauty School”, the International Association for Eyelash and Eyebrow Professionals, also took place. The importance of omega-3 fatty acids was discussed at the Latvian Medical Association’s interdisciplinary conference “The Importance of Omega-3 Fatty Acids”. Chronic stress, healthy nutrition, colour therapy and preventive medicine as a new medical paradigm were discussed by the Latvian Spa & Wellness Federation and the massage and yoga school “Spa School” in the jointly organised conference-forum “Complementary therapy in the beauty industry. Methods, opportunities, results”.
Events for everyone
For the first time in Latvia, the “Braiding Festival 2022” took place. The festival attracted a great deal of interest from visitors and offered braiding masterclasses for everyone as well as hair braiding competitions for professionals and beginners. The Baltic Beard and Moustache Championship was also held for the first time, with men’s hair salons or barbers, as well as visitors who are proud of their beards or moustaches.
The exhibition is organised by BT 1 International Exhibition Company in cooperation with the Latvian Association of Cosmetologists and Cosmeticians - CIDESCO section in Latvia, the Latvian Medical Association, the Latvian Association of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists, the Baltic IMAGE Specialists Association, the Latvian Spa & Wellness Federation, the International Association for Eyelash and Eyebrow Professionals, the Image school-studio “Unastyle”.
