Children’s World 2024 with Tuta, Lotte and even chipmunks
This weekend, on 27-28 April, Ķīpsala International Expo Centre will turn into the Children’s World 2024. With wide variety and range of products and services, it will be instrumental for parents, whereas kids will find creative, educational activities exciting, and there will be lots and lots of fun. Here is the TOP 10 of things and activities you need to experience.
Meet and greet with characters of Tuta’s Things and Lotte from Gadgetville
Meet and greet, and photo with Tuta’s friend the Fox, as well as dog girl Lotte and fly girl Ruta from Gadgetville, on both days of Children’s World 2024. But the highlight for Tuta Things young fans and other children will come on Sunday, 28 April at 11:00, when Tuta and her friends – Fox and Fenecca – will come to Ķīpsala to have fun, do things together and jump up and down with children as different activities will take place.
Celebrity fairy-tale readers
Armands Simsons, Superbingo presenter, ice-hockey player Jēkabs Rēdlihs, singer Liene Šomase and event moderator Reinis Maskavs will lend their voice to kind and warm-hearted fairy-tale characters of Inese Valtere’s family fairy-tale universe. Most attentive and curious listeners will have a wonderful opportunity to win the illustrious fairy-tale book illustrated by Gunta Zaļaiskalna, signed by the author, Inese Valtere herself. Baby’s first carriage
Baby prams of all kinds, for all purposes and needs of new and soon-to-be parents will be extensively displayed at the Children’s world in all their diversity, from new to classic, and carry cots to pushchairs. Mimikid will unveil the new, exclusive pram brand Angel Cab. Cybex, Joie, Nuna, Nordbaby, Bugaboo, Leclerc and other brands will also bring their prams to Ķīpsala Expo Centre for visitors to appreciate, try out and buy with specials discounts just for Children’s World.
Special and summer collections
Several Latvian children’s clothing brands will promote their new collections during the fair. Hebe will bring spring/summer collection “Chill & play all day”, “Tiny Bunny” will reveal “World changers” summer and spring line. Paade Mode will offer girls beautiful dresses for special occasion, bright and trendy clothes for boys, “Bencha Muude” will showcase mini collection “Lāča ķepa” (Bear paw), and Anvi AM will exhibit its linen clothes and folk costume elements for girls. Exhibiting companies will present clothes and accessories for both children under twelve and grown women.
For wholesome child development
Physical and intellectual development have become key child-rearing priorities in a world where minors are constantly exposed to technologies. Children’s World proudly welcomes local developmental toy and furniture manufacturers that focus on this priority, and this year there will be quite a number of them. Joy of Nature will offer insight into wooden Montessori toys: triangle stairs, cubes and arches, kitchen helpers, foldable toys and balance beams. MPA Fortius will demonstrate its creative learning table with cute bear chairs. TranaKids will even create play area in their booth where toddlers can test various products. Meanwhile, KidsOn.lv will advertise its streaming service that contains everyone’s favourite Latvian songs, fairy-tales and nursery rhymes.
Children’s Land festivities
While parents are shopping or getting the advice from specialists, children will be able to immerse themselves into the world of adventure, games and fun created by Pasaku Nams creative team. Children’s Land will offer little visitors puppet shows with puppets from “Ilze”, circus studio performance, magician Voldemārs, soap bubbles, dance-offs, Zumba masterclass with Rolands Bartaševics and opportunity to sing some songs together with well-known children’s bands. Unleash your fantasy with sand paintings on light boxes. Jump, ride and enjoy the Adventure Park rides. On Saturday, 27 April at 11:00 you can join the fun-loving chipmunks and play, sing and dance with characters in “Pasaku nams” performance. Bubbles, balloons, ice-cream and tasty pancake shapes will only add to the festive atmosphere. There is never enough fun!
Baby crawl competition
On Saturday, 27 April at 11:00, babies will have a chance to crawl race. This fun, lovely and exciting activity will give you plenty of emotions. There will be two categories – one for babies racing for speed and who gets to finish line first, and one for biggest supporters to find out who can cheer their little toddler the most and give the most encouragement. Registration (by the stage) will start at 10:30 and close at 11:20. Number of racers is limited.
Useful products for new mums and infants
At Ķīpsala you will also be able to buy hygiene products, baby food, baby health and safety products, toys, play mats, car chairs, balance bikes, feeding chairs, maternity clothes, accessories and cosmetics, and there will be plenty of special offers! For instance, Troll Nursery will showcase an extensive line of baby cots and textiles, whereas Elitera will bring hand-made pregnancy pillows, soft robes and baptism outfits.

On both days, new and future parents will be able to access free consultations from competent and knowledgeable specialists in maternal and baby health and wellbeing by registering in advance. Everything about safety for parents and children
This year too, there will be Safety Quarter where friendly police officers, firefighters and electricians will teach children through games how to be safe. Children will be excited at the opportunity to climb into the fire and rescue vehicle cabin or try on the firefighter’s kit and other tools. Meanwhile, parents will be able to refresh their first aid skills for infants and minors, under careful supervision of healthcare professionals.
