Baltic Winner
More than 2,000 purebred dogs from 22 countries, including Japan, Greece, Portugal and Spain, at the Ķīpsala Expo Centre this year. Long-Haired Collies, Shelties, Miniature Schnauzers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Shiba Inus, Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are the categories where competition between dogs will be the fiercest this year.
Real rarities
Visitors will be pleased to see Tibetan spaniel, a dog species that is yet to be registered in Latvia and uniquely known for being a truly rare breed to encounter. For those looking for something really extraordinary, there will be Tornjak, also known as the Bosnian-Herzegovinian and Croatian sheepdog, Icelandic Sheepdog, the unusual-looking Norwegian Lundehund, Taiwan Dog, rare Japanese Kishu and Shikoku, Serbian Tricolour Hound and Dutch Tulip Dog Markiesje.
Elegant kitties
All the cat lovers will be happy to see more than 300 unique cats from five countries. Majestic Maine Coons will be widely represented compared to other breeds. Trade fair will offer spectacular shows with pussycats competing for the title of most beautiful feline across various categories. There will be ring competitions for adult cats, kitten and junior cats. Special shows for bicolour cats and marble cats that are especially glamorous and elegant. Additional information: zooexpo.lv.
Exciting events, including events with border patrol dogs
Two-day ZooExpo 2025 trade fair offers various types of events. After a longer absence, Latvian Border Patrol Service is returning to the trade show with its exciting performances. Canine unit dogs will demonstrate their sniffer abilities that help detect drugs and explosives as well as perpetrators. As usual, kennel clubs and cat breeders will present their novelties. There will fun circus studio performances and creative workshops for kids. Little visitors of the trade show will be able to also enjoy the free Annels bouncy houses.
Treat your pet and get expert advice
ZooExpo 2025 exhibitors have vowed to bring a wide variety of animal products and services. There will be special trade show deals on dog and cat food, including treats, accessories, toys, rugs and beds, and many other items. Visitors will also have access to professional advice on how to choose the appropriate food and maintain pet’s health.
Meet kennel clubs
Are you still looking or ready to meet your right pet? Right breed? ZooExpo 2025 is perfect for meeting dogs and cats, and learning more about the diverse world of different breeds. This year Ķīpsala will offer to meet several kennel clubs. Their experts will gladly share their knowledge about peculiar character traits of each breed and other details that are good to know. If you want to bring your non-competing dog to the show, before you buy ticket, you and your pet will have to go through veterinary checkpoint by Gate 11. Dog owners will be required to present dog’s veterinary health certificate.
