Experienced waiters and waitresses will compete for the Latvian Hospitality Star 2025 title
On 5 September, at 10:00-15:30, during the Riga Food 2025, GEMOSS stage of the Ķīpsala International Expo Centre will become the venue for Latvian Hospitality Star 2025 competition for waiters and waitresses. Competition is a great way to facilitate exchange of knowledge and experience, and also new contacts between hospitality industry professionals.
The aim of the competition is to focus of professionals from Latvia and how they can inspire young talents to continue to grow professionally within the hospitality industry.
“We would like to see experienced waiters and waitresses showing their skills at the highest level – from setting tables and bar service to intricate details that are essential in hosting guests,” organisers inform.
Prizes
Winner will received paid apprenticeship in one of the leading European Michelin-star restaurants where they will be able to bring their skills to a new level, or GEMOSS gift card for €500. Runner up will win a GEMOSS gift card for €300, whereas 3rd place will get GEMOSS gift card for €150.
Registration
Competition is open to hospitality professionals that are at least 21 years old and have graduated from certified hospitality study or training programmes, and have sufficient English proficiency. Electronic applications must be submitted before 22 August 2025. Competition steering committee will evaluate applications and select four finalists who will compete on 5 September during the Riga Food 2025 in Ķīpsala.

Winners of Latvian Hospitality Star 2024
Last year’s winner Artis Melbārdis from restaurant WHITEHOUSE won a unique opportunity to train at a Michelin restaurant where he could bring his skills to a new level. Runner up Lauris Rauza from Fabrikas restorāns got the second place, leaving Ilze Bindere from restaurant John in third.
Competition is organised by SIA GEMOSS and Latvian Restaurant Association.
