Kids Expo Riga 2026 attracts more than 10 000 visitors with its Underwater World themed festival adventures
Kids Expo Riga 2026, festival for kids and their parents, took place on 7-8 March at the Ķīpsala International Expo Centre, filling its halls with merry children’s voices and laughter. The spectacular Underwater World stage and two-days packed with various events were a real treat to the little ones, just as much as myriads of creative workshops and play areas, rescue cars and educational games. As for the parents, this was a great chance to get free advice from specialists and get specific goods for best prices.
“Festival clearly demonstrated that children and parents need events where they can spend time together with purpose – have fun, learn and get inspired. That is why we have already begun preparations for the next festival and intend to bring families an even more exciting and valuable time spent together in Ķīpsala. A big thank you goes out to all the exhibitors, cooperation partners and obviously the little and grown-up visitors of Kids Expo Riga 2026. You gave the event an incredible atmosphere and energy!” Aiva Borska, Project Manager of Kids Expo Riga, says with great delight looking back at yet another successful fair.
Two days of joy and adventure
The spectacular Underwater World stage, which won the hearts of visitors and participants, became the epicentre of the festival with more than 20 artists and groups offering their shows. Little visitors were happy to see the beloved Tuta and the Fox, Ribbit the Frog and the Jellyfish. Mice Peek and Peeca at the Mouse Playhouse offered the little ones and grown-ups games and singalongs. Meanwhile magician Valdemārs Weiss dazzled everyone with his tricks, while the amazing bubbles of the Mermaid was the show that made spectators cheer loudly.
More than 20 artists and groups took to the stage, including children’s vocal studio “Kukaiņi/Bugs”, Agnese Šīrante studio “Kukuragi/Piggybacking”, pop band “Marmelādes/Marmelades”, “Rakari/Rascals”, Children’s Vocal Group “Baltā dūja/White Dove”, Pop Band “Fantāzija/Fantasia”, Children’s and Youth Vocal Studio “Pigoriņi/Scamps”, Dance Studio “Pērlīte/Little Pearl”, “Festa”, “Virziens/Trajectory”, Dance Studio “Melody”, Dance Studio “Akvarel/Water colours”, even Circus Studio “ Youth” and Melanž Acrobatic Studio. Passion with which the little artists performed ignited the others as they also joined the dancing and singing, which grew into a powerful choir and dance party both on the stage and off of it at times. Little fans of SpongeBob were also happy to meet their favourite cartoon character in person and take photos at Ķīpsala.
Neon Disco – a new addition
Children and their parents were especially ecstatic about the new festival adventure, the Neon Disco. As children immersed themselves in the bright lights, music and groove enveloped them. Dynamic party took place at a custom-built hall for all the dancers and other to enjoy the festival mood.
Activities for everyone who loves to move and create
Activepark adventure area offered children to jump up and down the bouncy castles, take a ride with an electric car or do something less intensive and ease into Sand Lamps sensory activities that calm the mind and focus it on creativity, even if for a while. Exhibitors had also put a lot of thought into making their stands interesting for the little visitors – there were different activities like sand painting, ball bath, riding a toy offroad car through the obstacle course or operating construction machines in a special sandbox.
Baby crawling competition: smiles and laughter all around
Competition between little crawlers turned out to be a popular amusement, spurred on by the supporters and spectators. Parents crawled on their knees, encouraged their babies with favourite toys to make little athletes feel more confident.
Creative fashion show
And then there was also the baby fashion show with surprisingly creative parents. Little models showcased original underwater world-themed outfits. Crab family wore nicely coordinated, similar costumes. Little girl octopus had a very unique combination, while the jellyfish costume was both lavish and super sustainable, made from recycled materials. There were also special prizes for participants of the fashion show from Kids Expo Riga 2026 exhibitors: Tiny Bunny, Haaka.Baltic, Pasaku Nams, Tukuma piens, Mimikid and Bolero.
Safety education
Safety Quarter was very popular among visitors. Children would meet policemen, firefighters, paramedics, electrical and natural gas safety officers or climb into fire engine and other emergency vehicles, explore the equipment and participate games teaching about safety. Parents, too, were benefitting from instructional presentation on the first aid to infants.
Valuable specialist advice
There were five consultation rooms operating throughout the festival for parents looking for free specialist advice on child’s health, development and wellbeing. Nutritionist, doulas, postnatal fitness coach, physiotherapist, psychologist, language and speech therapists, certified private tutor were the professionals helping young families find way in crucial areas of family life.
New products from exhibitors
While children enjoyed themselves, parents browsed through children’s goods and services presented by 78 exhibitors from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland. There were latest baby prams, children’s clothes, toys, furniture and other items for families. Special festival prices, discounts and tastings. And parents were keen to taste, compare and buy the necessary products.
