Incredibly powerful, beautiful and sporty: it’s the Maserati MC20 Italian supercar, which will see its Baltic premiere at the Auto 2022 show in Ķīpsala, on 29 April to 1 May. The legendary footballer David Beckham, also chose this exclusive sports car!
Maserati is well known for its sporty luxury saloons, coupes, and SUVs, and now has finally produced a new thoroughbred supercar, the Maserati MC20. This model comes after a long hiatus, following the very rare Maserati MC12, made in 2004 on the chassis of the Ferrari Enzo. The three days from 29 April to 1 May will offer a unique chance to see this fast, comfortable and well-grounded vehicle with butterfly doors at the Autobrava exhibition of the show in Ķīpsala.
Maserati MC20 boasts a three-litre V6 Nuttuno turbine petrol engine: the first engine Maserati has independently designed in more than 20 years. With 630 horse power, and a torque of 730 newton-meters, it gets the supercar from zero to a hundred in a mere 2.8 seconds, with a maximum speed of 328 km/h. At less than 1500 kg, the Maserati MC20 is remarkably light.
David Beckham’s car
One of the owners of this vehicle is the popular football player David Beckham; it was customised to his preferences as part of the Maserati Fuoriserie programme. Beckham gave his car the colours of the Inter Miami CF football team: its body has a glossy black tone, with matte black highlights. The MC20 logos and Brembo brake callipers are in a contrasting pastel colour.
Did you know?
‘MC’ in the name of the model stands for ‘Maserati Corsa’, or ‘racing Maserati’, and the number 20 indicates the year when it was presented to the world for the first time.
Plans for an electric model
Maserati is planning a big future for its MC20 flagship, with a pure racing version coming soon, and a fully electric variant of the model in development at the company’s innovation lab, promising to bring the Italian supercar to the age of strict environmental regulations.
Impressive Baltic premieres
From 29 April to 1 May, guests of the show in Ķīpsala will enjoy a fair few new vehicles with the Nissan Ariya electric vehicle, the Nissan Qashqai crossover, the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the Citro?n Ami two-seater, the Enyaq Coupe iV latest electric car by Škoda, and others. Auto 2022 will be the first place to see the Mercedes-EQ electric cars in Latvia, including the Mercedes EQS high-tech flagship, as well as EQA, EQB, and EQE. Another Baltic debut will be the latest-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV, and Renault’s fully-electric Megane E-Tech. Hyundai Nexo will join for a Latvian premiere.
