From September 4 to 7, the most important event of the Baltic food industry “Riga Food 2019” will bring together international and domestic companies, offer master and food competitions, new product presentations, educational seminars, master classes and tastings at the Kipsala International Exhibition Centre in Riga, Latvia.
More than 700 companies from Austria, Belarus, Georgia, Estonia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Pakistan, Poland, Canada, Cyprus, Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Germany and other countries – a total of at least 25 countries – will present their newest products and services during “Riga Food 2019”. Companies from Bashkortostan, Korea and Romania will be represented at “Riga Food 2019” for the first time!
“Riga Food” this year will offer national collective stands of at least 10 countries – Belarus, Georgia, Estonia, Italy, Moldova, Lithuania, Canada, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Latvia – and for the first time – the national stand of Bashkortostan!
“The “Riga Food” fair is a great and proven stepping stone especially for new companies looking forward to carving out their niche in the rapidly developing food industry market. Participation in “Riga Food” provides visibility, an opportunity to present their products and services to a large audience and to build up their business image successfully. Direct contact is the most important thing – both in communication with existing customers and in searching for new ones,” the project manager Rolands Nežborts emphasizes the advantages of the food fair.
Latvian food producers and technologists will compete for the “Riga Food” medals in premium quality food competitions the results of which will be announced immediately after the official opening ceremony of the fair to be held at 11.00, September 4 in the conference room 3.
Local foods of Latvia’s regions
Every county in Latvia has its own story, culinary heritage, treats and home-made specialties, therefore, domestic, small-scale producers, small and medium-sized enterprises from across Latvia will showcase and sell their products in the Regions of Latvia Hall of “Riga Food 2019”.
“Riga Food” is the place to get acquainted with innovations in the food industry. The Innovation Stand will feature the latest products and solutions developed by food businesses, scientists and researchers. For the first time in Latvia, the Innovation Awards Demo Day will take place at the “Riga Food” fair. On this day, startuppers will present their ideas – production optimization solutions, new product lines and food supplements, as well as innovative packaging and other innovations that would bring high added value to the food industry. The authors of two best solutions will receive a grant award – the winner receives EUR 10,000 and the runner up – EUR 5000.
Chef, apprentice chef, bartender and tea master competitions
Chefs from all over Latvia will compete for the titles for the titles “Chef of Latvia 2019” and “Apprentice Chef of Latvia 2019”. Participation in the competition for apprentice chefs provides an opportunity to improve professional skills, gain confidence, get to know other professionals and attract the attention of future employers. The winners of the “Chef of Latvia 2019” competition will be granted an opportunity to represent Latvia for the first time at the most prestigious gastronomic competition in the world “Bocuse d’Or”. Apart from that, “Riga Food” will also offer visitors to watch exciting bartender and tea master shows!
In order to facilitate the development of packaging production and packaging design, to support the circulation of high quality packaging in Latvia and to promote the development of environmentally friendly packaging, the international Packaging Competition “Riga Food 2019 Packaging No. 1” will be held. The exhibition of competition entries will be open for public and visitors will have an opportunity to vote for their sympathy, thus defining the most popular packaging.
