Enjoy new taste at Riga Food 2020!


From 9 to 12 September, the Ķīpsala International Exhibition Centre will host the Baltic’s most important food industry event Riga Food 2020, which will offer a safe environment for new business to professionals and new tastes and new ideas to all gourmets. The food fair will also feature Grilling and BBQ competitions, chilli eating contest, presentations and master classes!
More than 400 companies from 30 countries will present their new and innovative products and services at Riga Food 2020. Visitors will have an opportunity to take a gastronomic trip visiting the national stands of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Canada, Moldova, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Japan and Poland. 

National taste
Sweets, spices, jams, meat products, cheese, coffee and many other delicious foods will be presented by Aloja Starkelsen, Ādaži Meat House, Jaunpils Dairy Company, Top Food, Mosenc, Valežs in the National Stand of Latvia. Members of the Latvian Bakers’ Society – Dona, Lielezers, Saldus maiznieks, Lāči and Hanzas Maiznīca will present an extensive offer of Latvian bakeries. Gastronomic treats of Latvian home producers, small producers and small businesses will not be missed too!

New products
Companies choose Riga Food to present and test their new products. Thus, for example, Sabiles sidrs will introduce its new brand GARDENERS developed this year. Visitors will have an opportunity to taste three new ciders: dry apple, semi-dry apple-blackcurrant and sweet apple-quince ciders. Top Food will present its new crunchy cheese snacks Hrumm Hrumm in six flavours. KAIGO will present an assortment of Latvian-made high-quality Alaskan wild salmon products, while Iberic Tapas OÜ from Estonia will offer you to get acquainted with the Spanish delicacy Mojama.

Food technology

Food professionals will also be able to get to know the latest and most demanding food technologies. For example, Nord Systems encourages manufacturers to take their products and visit company’s stand to try out demo equipment – metal detectors, label and inkjet printers, lasers, and to check their ease and quality of use. Meanwhile, SnapTest.LV awaits manufacturers to try out for free a set of gluten-free allergen tests for a single product, while SRS GASTRO will offer high-performance industrial washing machines Multiwasher by Somengil.

Premium quality products
Also this year, food producers and masters will receive the Riga Food medals in competitions for premium quality foods – honey and milk. We already know the winners of the competition "The Tastiest Honey 2020”! On September 9, the Riga Food 2020 Gold Medals will be presented to the best Latvian beekeepers ? Lolita Rudzīte for spring linden honey harvested in the Skrīveri Arboretum park, Maija Malnača for polyfloral honey harvested in Viesīte municipality and Ilze Grava-Niķe for linden honey harvested in Ēnas iela, Riga. The winners of the milk quality competition will be announced and greeted together with the winners of the honey competition at the award ceremony, which will take place immediately after the opening of the exhibition. Innovations

Riga Food will also cover the achievements of all three Baltic States in the food sector. Visiting Innovation Stand will provide an opportunity to look at the latest products and solutions developed by entrepreneurs, scientists and researchers in the food sector, while entrepreneurs and industry professionals are invited to participate in the International Matchmaking Event on 10 September. Presentation Lounge
All four days of Riga Food, there will be a presentation lounge, where speakers will give invaluable and concise presentations on current topics in the food industry, such as the principles of zero waste in food industry. There will also be grilling and BBQ competitions, master classes, a chilli eating contest open to every visitor of the food fair.

Master classes by a recognized business coach
This year, the food fair features one of Russia’s 20 leading speakers ? Business coach and personal brand development expert Yulianna Pliskina. In her online lecture “How to develop a small business through a personal brand at a small expense” on 11 September, she will tell why a company founder needs a personal brand in the 21st century. Riga Food 2020 will feature Japan’s national pavilion for the first time in history
Our main purpose of joining Riga Food 2020 is to create awareness on the high quality of Japanese agricultural products and foods, as well as to establish new business opportunities for further market development in the Baltic region. We aim to develop new business channels by promoting the natural benefits of Japanese tea.
On this special occasion, we will introduce our Japanese tea products which are one of Japan’s top exports to the EU. Japanese tea has many natural benefits resulting from ingredients such as green tea catechin, minerals, vitamins, etc.. Additionally, organic Japanese tea and non-caffeine roasted tea also provide numerous health benefits.
Riga Food 2020 visitors and participants will be warmly welcome to the Japan Pavilion where they will have the opportunity to be introduced to various kinds of Japanese teas - including Matcha, Gyokuro, Sencha, Bancha (Hojicha, Brown Rice Tea), as well as flavoured Green Tea and Sweet Matcha powder /Sweet Hojicha (Roasted green tea) powder used to make Latte drinks. Everyone is welcome to explore the unique taste of Japan’s products.
