The latest building materials and construction solutions, tools and machinery, tasteful interior elements for designing and building your new home or modifying your already existing one will be displayed at the 32nd International Building Industry Trade Fair “Māja I 2018” from 8 to 11 March in Ķīpsala.
This year the spotlight of “Māja I 2018” will be directed at the topic of secure households and safe construction. The latest offers will be presented by more than 390 enterprises from at least 10 countries. Moreover, many of them will be offering materials that are safe for the home environment.
Data of the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) of Latvia show that fatal fires are most frequently caused by the irresponsibility and recklessness of people. “If people were to act more responsibly and follow basic fire safety requirements, for example, were to install smoke detectors in their homes and not use damaged ovens or wiring, some fire accidents could be prevented,” Inta Palkavniece, Acting Head of the Prevention and Public Relations Division of SFRS, elaborates.
“Māja I 2018” is the right place to prepare for safe construction, as it is possible to consult with many construction professionals and view a wide range of building materials and construction solutions. From smoke detectors and fireproof doors to non-flammable fabrics for your interior,” Roberts Brēde, Manager of “Māja I 2018”, reveals.
In order for your house to be safe as well, it will be possible to meet representatives of the SFRS rescue service and home safety experts from “Latakva” and “FN Serviss” who will be offering fire extinguishers and smoke detectors for great prices. You will also have the possibility to purchase other fireproof items, for example, non-flammable curtains for the interior of your home from “Žaluzi.eu”.
Energy-efficient building materials
“Māja I 2018” will provide an opportunity to consult with highly qualified construction specialists from “Reaton” who carry out complete object construction and finishing works, all the way from the zero cycle to the moment when the object is put into operation. Experienced specialists from “Paroc” will assist you with questions regarding household energy efficiency and fire safety, and will offer you non-flammable rockwool insulation slabs. You will also be able to meet experts from “Tenapors” who will present expanded polystyrene thermal plates, sandwich panels for industrial buildings and efficient solutions for home decoration, which ensure energy efficiency and imitate the effect of a high-quality brick wall.
Efficiency and power at your fingertips
The well-known brands “STIHL” and “Fiskars” will be available at the “Ginalas” display. The just-as-popular brand “Husquarna” will offer powerful solutions for sawing, mowing and landscaping at its display. There will also be traders of construction machinery from “Stokker” and “Arsenal Industrial”.

Those with especially exquisite taste will also be spoilt for choice – Italian paints and the latest finishing materials will be available at the “LAT GRAND” display.
But we must not forget about the events taking place outside – the trade fair will offer high-quality solutions for paving, greening, as well as landscaping. You will be able to meet representatives of “Uzars bruģēšana”, one of the leading paving companies in Latvia, and you will be able to view fences for private and agricultural needs made by “Žogu fabrika”.
Heating, water supply and plumbing
The Latvian plumbing giant “Komforts” will have several displays at the trade fair, as the company will offer plumbing, as well as heating solutions. A warm and cosy household may be viewed as equal with “SB siltumtehnika” – they have been taking care of heating solutions of homes for 26 years, and it will be possible to meet them at the fair.

The offer will be supplemented by the Lithuanian company “Vilma electric”.
