|Riga Food 2017 – from business contacts to gastronomic pleasures!The Baltic’s biggest food industry event Riga Food 2017 offering an ambitious exhibition of international and domestic companies and organizations, masters and food competitions, news presentations, educational seminars, exciting shows, master classes and tastings takes place at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre, Riga, Latvia from 6–9 September.

More than 700 companies from over 35 countries – Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Georgia, Estonia, Italy, Great Britain, Lithuania, Poland, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Mexico and other, will be attending “Riga Food 2017” to present the latest products and services.

Enjoy the taste of Latvia in the exposition of Latvian regions
The visitors of “Riga Food”, for the fifth consecutive year, have a unique opportunity to enjoy the local foods of all four regions of Latvia – Latgale, Kurzeme, Vidzeme and Zemgale. More than 150 home compounders, small-scale producers, small and medium-sized companies are attending the Regions of Latvia Hall “The Taste of Latvia” this year. The competition “The Taste of Latvia” is taking place all exhibition days and every visitor is welcome to vote for the most delicious product.
Premium quality products
The Riga Food 2017 Premium Food Competition this year will determine food producers and masters foodmakers producing the high quality honey, bread, cream and a 2017 new milk product. The competition results will be announced immediately after the Riga Food 2017 Opening Ceremony. Opening ceremony takes place September 6 at 11.00 in the conference room No. 3
“Riga Food” is as always presenting the achievements of the food industry. Visiting the Innovation stand, stakeholders find the latest products and solutions developed by entrepreneurs, scientists and researchers in the food industry, while entrepreneurs and industry professionals take part in an international brokerage event, September 8.
In order to facilitate the development of packaging production and packaging design in accordance with the requirements of the EU common market, to support the circulation of high quality packaging in Latvia and to promote the development of environmentally friendly packaging, the Packaging Association of Latvia organizes the National Competition "Best Packaging in Latvia". The exhibition of competition entries is open for public all exhibition days.
During the International Packaging Competition "Riga Food 2017 Packaging No. 1”, international jury evaluates packaging in seven categories: packaging for beverages, confectionery and sweets, milk and dairy products, meat and meat products, fish and fish products, bread and groceries, and packaging not included in these product groups. The “Riga Food 2017” visitors, in their turn, can to vote for their favourite packaging, thus identifying the most popular packaging.
The best chef and apprentice chef on Latvia
Young chefs from all over Latvia gathers in Kipsala on September 7 to fight for the title "Apprentice Chef of Latvia 2017". Taking part in the competition, young chefs get the opportunity to improve their professional skills, gain confidence, get acquainted with other colleagues and attract the attention of future employers.
In order to find out Latvia’s best chef, as well as to promote the professionalism, the exchange of experience and mutual co-operation of Latvian chefs, the competition “Chef of Latvia 2017” is to be held on September 8. The aim of the competition is to develop the art of cooking in Latvia in accordance with the manifest of the Modern Latvian Cuisine – good taste, quality and caring of a healthy diet at the same time.
Riga Tea Days and Latvian National Tea Championship for Children
Riga Tea Days will be held in Kipsala, September 6. The visitors of “Riga Food 2017” will have an opportunity to watch the Indian and Chinese tea ceremonies, get information on spices necessary to brew Japanese tea. There will also be an opportunity to follow Korean tea making process. Latvian and Russian tea-making ceremonies are also in agenda.
On September 9, will be held the first Latvian National Tea Championship for Children, where small masters tea brewers will compete in the art of tea brewing, composition and tasting.
Tasting of the Latvian small breweries and homebrewers products
All beer lovers will be warmly welcome to “Riga Food 2017” on 9 September to meet more than 15 Latvian small breweries and homebrewers and taste their products.
Well-known master brewers will give an insight into beer brewing and drinking traditions in the course of the day. Visitors will have an opportunity to watch beer brewing demonstrations, to taste wort and find out the latest news in the beer industry.
“Riga Food 2017” reportedly will take place from 6–9 September 6 to 9 at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre.
