See Latvian-built electric minibus at Auto 2019!

Visitors are welcome to the eMobility exposition at “Auto 2019”, 12–14 April, to see the electric minibus OPP built in Latvia by the engineering team of Andris Dambis.

OPP stands for Opportunity. eMobility builds 100% electric minibuses using as the donor vehicle the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus. The OPP is designed for 20 passengers and its one-charge range is 100 km.

Using unique batteries made in Japan can be charged in a very short time – a 5-minute charge for a 20 km drive.

Charging is carried out with a pantograph – a roof-mounted device intended for the supply of electrical energy. Moreover, the pantograph is a fast charging solution, so a driver does not need to get off the minibus. The OPP minibus can also be charged using a cord and plug.

A ride in the e-minibus is similar to that in a trolleybus – minimum noise, smooth acceleration and deceleration as the driver does not change gears.
.
The minibus was built by the engineering team of Andris Dambis that also created the OSCar eO. It was the first range-extended electric-drive vehicle that completed the Dakar Rally in 2012. In 2015, Rhys Millen won the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with the eO PP03 designed and built by the Dambis’ team.

The Latvian-built electric OPP minibus will be showcased in the eMobility exposition offered by the Zero Emission Mobility Support Society (BIMAB).

“Auto 2019”, 12–14 April, will provide an opportunity to get acquainted with the latest cars, commercial vehicles, special machinery and equipment, impressive tuning masterpieces, and other news of the automotive industry.
