All about education – “Skola 2020” coming in February!
From February 28 to March 1, Kipsala International Exhibition Centre will host the International Education Fair “Skola 2020”, the most important educational event in Latvia that annually offers extensive and high-quality information on educational opportunities in Latvia and abroad, consultations by academic staff and students, an opportunity to find out what professions fit your personality and other informative and exciting activities to thousands of young people.
“The “Skola” exhibition is a great help in choosing a path to further education, as young people can meet and interview representatives of many educational institutions and get feedback from students themselves. Adults, for their part, and children in Kipsala will find various opportunities to improve their knowledge – courses, seminars and language camps. Finding, seeing and also trying out what professions fit your personality is definitely more interesting than searching for information on the Internet,” tells the “Skola” project manager Valts Jirgensons.
Latvian higher education institutions are waiting for future students
“Skola 2020” will be attended by almost all state and private higher education institutions – University of Latvia, Riga Technical University, Riga Stradins University, Liepaja University, Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies, Rezekne Academy of Technologies, Daugavpils University, Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, Latvian Academy of Culture, Latvian Maritime Academy, National Defence Academy of Latvia, Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, Turība University, Transport and Telecommunication Institute, Riga Aeronautical Institute, Riga Graduate School of Law etc. – that will introduce admission rules, new study programmes, budget placements, study exchange and internship opportunities, and extra-curricular activities.
After a long period of time, the exhibition will be attended by the Tartu University Institute of Technology (Estonia), and for the first time by the Breda University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands) and University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest (Hungary). Stakeholders will also be able to find out all they need about international exams, school summer language camps and language courses abroad.
Learn a profession after elementary school
Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet and interview the representatives from the Vocational Education Competence Centre, colleges, technical schools and vocational secondary schools, who will present to young people several hundreds of educational programmes to be taken after grade 9 or grade 12. Educational institutions present at “Skola 2020” include Riga State Technical School, P. Take counsel on the study abroad opportunities
If you want to study abroad, take the opportunity to find out the most up-to-date information on educational opportunities directly from representatives of foreign educational institutions, as well as consult with the experts from international education agencies, centres and NGOs like “Kalba”, “AFS Latvija”, BAFF, “Dream Foundation”, DAAD, “egoPERFECTUS”, Canadian Embassy.
Does profession fit your personality?
Want to become a cook, a hairdresser, a doctor, an engineer or an aircraft pilot? Come to the exhibition and give it a try! In order to give future students an idea of different professions and to discover something completely new, the “Skola 2020” participants will offer visitors the opportunity to try their hand at one or another profession. For example, the National Defence Academy of Latvia will let visitors try out soldier’s equipment, but the Novikontas Maritime College – to play the role of a helmsman.
But before you choose whether to study in Latvia or abroad, let’s meet at “Skola 2020” in late February! More information: www.bt1.lv/skola You can still join in!
