Baltic Beauty 2017 Visited by a Record Number of Guests

Some say that beauty enhances beauty – the statistics of Baltic Beauty 2017, the biggest beauty fair in Northern Europe, shows this to be true. The fair, which took place on 3–5 November in Ķīpsala, brought an extensive range of products and a spectacular programme of events to 32,236 visitors, the largest number yet.

“With each year, this celebration of beauty gets bigger and better. Proof of this is the growing number of visitors, as well as the positive feedback both from visitors and participants,” says Kristīne Čerņavska, the Baltic Beauty Project Manager.

This year’s statistics show that Baltic Beauty is still the leader in the beauty industry. In more than 337 expositions, where products and services were presented by companies from 19 countries, the visitors had a chance to try out the latest beauty products and procedures, consult with specialists and participate in more than 30 master classes. In addition to that, they could watch professionals in action in more than 51 competitions, where both new talents and experienced specialists competed in dexterity and originality. An integral part of the fair is its educational programme, which this year consisted of five international conferences and a variety of seminars.

Each year, both beauty enthusiasts and specialists find something of interest to themselves. 16,886 of the large number of visitors were beauty specialists.

Extensive Offer at the Expositions
Both halls of the fair offered beauty products for body, face and hair. The World of Beautiful Face and Body hall had products and services for all wishes and needs: from eyelash extensions to the latest apparatus technologies, from oral hygiene products to professional face creams, from permanent makeup to decorative cosmetics, and from dietary supplements to breast implants. This year, professional decorative cosmetics prevailed. There was an especially large selection of manicure tools, as well as the latest collections of nail polishes. Many a visitor used the opportunity to try different types of healing procedures and get their makeup or nails done at the fair.

Whereas, at the World of Beautiful Hair hall one could not only find the most suitable hair care and styling products, but also watch demonstrations by the virtuosos of the hair industry. The visitors could see renowned hairdressers in action, such as Konstantin Gorohov, Igors Popovs, as well as Kristaps Slakters-Zvejsalnieks, one of the TOP 10 hairdressers in the world. This time around the fair focused on men. It provided them with inspiration for creating and maintaining a beautiful beard, as well as with the most efficient hair care and styling methods. The last day of the fair saw the opening of the biggest pop-up hair salon in the Baltics, where world class experts, such as Irina Saar from Finland, Igor Konon from Belarus, Kristīne Siliņa from Latvia and others made the visitors’ hair dreams come true.

International Speakers
Each year, the fair invites some of the best industry specialists to share their knowledge on how to look and feel good. Baltic Beauty 2017 featured five international conferences with the participation of globally recognised speakers. Nine experienced experts from the USA, Croatia, Lithuania, Russia and Latvia shared their tips and tricks on how to get statement lashes and brows at the Baltic Beauty Eyelash and Eyebrow Conference. The first Baltic makeup conference From Classics to Art was also visited by world class experts, including the renowned makeup artist Denis Kartashov. The never-ending battle against aging, the role of nutrition in the ageing process, and the factors affecting the quality of skin were discussed by the best Latvian and foreign cosmetologists at the conference A Multidisciplinary Approach to Anti-Age Therapy in Cosmetology. Knowledgeable specialists were discussing ways of staying in shape at the annual Baltic Spa Conference, while the impact of nutrition on the skin’s condition was the subject of The Effect of the Environment and Nutrition on Health and Skin conference.

Outstanding Performances in Competitions

An essential attribute of Baltic Beauty is the spirit of competition, with hairdressers, stylists, makeup artists, spa and other specialists putting their best skills forward in more than 30 competitions. The competition The Whole World in Your Eyes took place for the first time, while the last year’s newcomer, the eyelash extension competition Baltic Beauty Cup 2017, returned for the second round, just like the Spa Championship and the Creative Makeup Competition. Meanwhile, the VII Baltic Nail Sculpting and Design Competition, which lasted all three days of the fair, inspired with unique manicure designs.
