The 8th Latvian Congress of Physicians and the Medbaltica 2017 trade fair to take place in Kipsala
The biggest in four years medical event in the Baltics – the 8th Latvian Congress of Physicians and the 10th International Medical Fair "Medbaltica 2017" bringing together medical practitioners, professional associations and manufacturers of medical products from Latvia and other countries will take place from September 21–23 in Kipsala International Exhibition Centre.
"Over the course of ten years, the “Medbaltica” exhibition has become an important meeting place for industry professionals, where they can get a wide range of information on medical news, discuss current affairs in the health care sector during conferences and seminars and exchange experience with their Latvian and foreign counterparts," told the “Medbaltica” Project Manager Martins Druvkalns adding that: "Those who are interested in specific rehabilitation or medical issues will find all they need there."
"Medbaltica 2017" – from vitamins to medical equipment
The "Medbaltica 2017" trade fair brings together more than 125 participants from 11 countries – Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Belgium, Italy, Russia, China, Poland, Romania, Singapore and Sweden.
Three days in Kipsala will offer the congress delegates and visitors a great opportunity to get acquainted with the latest dental equipment and supplies, rehabilitation, surgery, orthopaedic and other medical technology. The professional part of the exhibition will also include oral health products, antiviral medications, rehabilitation, compression and orthopaedic products, medical scrubs and footwear. Moreover, all products will be available at very attractive prices.
Medical technology will be represented by the following companies: A.Medical, Arbor Medical Korporācija, Dynasty, Little Doctor International (S) Pte. Ltd from Singapore, Albis Maur from Poland and Doctor Tools from Romania (both are newcomers to the medical fair). Orkla Health, Recesus, Minskintercaps, Pharm & Med will be represented in the pharmacy section, but Altex, Dentoflex Schumann, Plandent, Sogeva from Italy (new to the fair) and many other will present dental products. Made in Latvia!
Alongside foreign companies and their representative offices in Latvia, there will be a number of domestic companies, for example, Tonus Elast manufacturing a wide range of elastic medical products will present the new AIR collection of innovative belts made of innovative perforated tapes.
With the onset of viral infections during the autumn months, various products for viral prophylaxis may be useful. Riga Pharmaceutical Factory, one of the largest producers of herbal remedies in the Baltics, will present its latest product – "Oterino" nasal drops contain eucalyptus and peppermint oil, moisture and protect nasal mucous membrane, release breathing. The well-known company Dr. Tereško tējas, in turn, will offer to visitors’ evaluation nutritional supplements with botulin extracted from birch bark – “Betuliver”, “Betulcard”, “Betulgastro”, “Betulflu” and “Betuluro” – now registered and patented in the EU.
However, if health problems are more serious, and it would be necessary to find out right diagnosis, it can be done at the GenEra laboratory, which has 16 years of experience in molecular diagnostics. The common denominator of the largest medical forum – clinical case
The 8th Latvian Congress of Physicians will bring together thousands of doctors from Latvia and abroad. The congress will be attended by Prof. Kristaps Zarins, a Chief of Vascular Surgery, Stanford University, Iuly Treger, a President of the Israel Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Otmar Kloiber, a Member of the Centre for Global Health and Diplomacy (GHD) and Prof. Janis Tupesis, Arkady Vertkin, a Scientific Secretary of the Scientific Council, a Head of the Therapy, Clinical Pharmacy and Emergency Medicine of the Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry and other.
The Congress is aimed to enable practitioners in all sectors to share their experiences and observations through clinical cases. The clinical case viewpoint is also suitable for discussing professionally urgent issues – maternal and child health, palliative care issues, legal regulation of medical treatment activities, pharmaceuticals, development of primary health care in Latvia and other topics.
“Medbaltica 2017” will also offer the 4th Latvian Congress of Nurses, Midwives and Assistant Physicians, which will address a number of urgent issues, including priority areas for health care, parental involvement in the inpatient care for kids etc. On September 21 will be held the Congress of Pharmacists’ Society of Latvia "Biological medicines – opportunities and challenges today and in the years to come" and the Conference of the Latvian Dental Association and the Latvian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons "Clinical case in dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery" to discuss the use of anaesthetics in child dentistry, how to help overcome child’s fear of a dentist, as well as oncology related issues.
On September 22, the issues of cooperation between doctors and veterinarians will be discussed at the Latvian Medical Association and Latvian Association of Veterinarians’ Interdisciplinary Conference "One World – One Health". On September 23, the Riga East University Hospital Meeting, the Latvian Medical Association Meeting, as well as the meetings "Mental Health", "Quo vadis, Pharmacy?" and "Maternal and Child Health" will be held.
