The extravagant Batmobile to appear in Ķīpsala!

Many dream of a real Batmobile in their childhood. Now’s the chance to turn your dreams into reality! All visitors of the largest car tuning show in the Baltics – “Auto Exotica 2017” – taking place in Ķīpsala from 7 to 9 April will have the opportunity to view the street-legal Batmobile that is worth a million!

Here from the set of “Batman”!

The Batmobile on display at “Auto Exotica 2017” has been created in Scandinavia and was made according to the model of the vehicle that can be seen in Tim Burton’s 1989 superhero movie “Batman”. This is the first Batmobile that is of identical dimensions and is a functioning vehicle.

The project was carried out by Leif Garvin, who came up with the idea to create such a vehicle right after seeing “Batman” in 1989. However, he started working on the idea only 10 years later when he met a like-minded man named Ville Tikkanen.

Both men needed to put in 20 thousand hours of work in order to create the real Batmobile. All the parameters and forms of the body were taken from the official scale model of the movie and were realised in natural dimensions. The panels of the body are made from new generation carbon fibre composite materials, which are also used by manufacturers of supercars.

Surprising design and dimensions!
The Batmobile will not only surprise you with its futuristic design, but also with its size – it is longer than a Rolls-Royce Phantom and wider than the massive Range Rover SUV. It has a very low cockpit with a spherical windscreen, huge rear wings like the ones used on cars of the American rock ’n’ roll period, as well as stylized turbines on the front and rear parts of the body.

It can also be spotted on the streets!
No less important is the fact that this Batmobile is not a replica but a real functioning vehicle that the owner uses to ride the streets of his hometown. For this reason, Leif Garvin has even made a Batsuit so that he could enjoy the complete superhero experience with the 550 horse-power V8 Batmobile. The author of the project has calculated that the creation of the Batmobile has cost him one million euros.

In addition to the extravagant Batmobile, the loudest and brightest section of the “Auto” fair – “Auto Exotica 2017” – will also display various tuner cars, racing cars, as well as restored classical vehicles from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Sweden. There will also be an extensive range of tuning equipment!
