Motorcycle designed in Latvia at Recreation and Sports 2017!
isitors to "Recreation and Sports 2017" in Kipsala, 24–26 March, will have an opportunity to see motorcycles, ATVs, boats, yachts and bicycles and also the motorcycle “Night Nomad” designed in Latvia. Night Nomad would look good even in the tuning programmes on the Discovery channel!
Impressive in size and complexity, this iron horse survived metamorphosis in the only in Latvia professional motorcycle tuning studio "Metalhammers" under the surveillance of its ideological mastermind, designer and member of the Latvian Designers Society Juhan Losop also known as Aleksandrs Blūmentāls. This bike serves as an excellent example of professionalism and creative ideas of Latvian masters.
Night Nomad is built on the 2012 Harley Davidson Road Glide that Latvian tuning masters have transformed beyond recognition. "To appreciate the work of the designer, you must first see the original motorcycle. The bike has become longer, got specially adapted wings, trunks, a tank, and for the most part, all of these things are handmade," Juhan tells.
The black bike has a 26-inch front wheel, design handlebars, metallic footsteps in the form of a snake, a leather saddle with the image of a gladiator and inscription in Latin “Aut vincere, aut mori” (Either to conquer or to die). The saddle was made by Hottabych, a well-known biker and an outstanding master of leather arts. Night Nomad was painted by Vilnis Krilovskis. The bike has an impressive audio system with a Bluetooth function and six speakers with a total capacity 660W.
"The bike cannot be created only on paper, you have to feel it and make its parts with your hands. I learned these skills after graduation from Jānis Rozentāls School of Arts when I worked at the factory "Sarkanā zvaigzne" together with the well-known designer Gunārs Gludiņš,” Juhan explains.
Visitors of the fair will be the first to appreciate this masterpiece by Metalhammers; already in June, Night Nomad will be showcased in the Nortälje Custom Bike Show, Sweden. " For 10 years already, we have been showcasing our bikes in a variety of shows in Denmark, Sweden, Germany and other countries, earning love and popularity among audience as well as feeling disbelief in the fact that Latvian tuning masters can build something worth showing in the Discovery Channel," Juhan tells.
