Business forum to be held in Riga "High added value in Baltic tourism"

Introducing the Baltics’ biggest travel trade fair, the business forum “High Added Value in Baltic Tourism” is to be held at the Conference Centre “Citadele”, February 4. It will be an exclusive opportunity to evaluate the current situation and opportunities in the most profitable niche tourism segments – congress and conference (MICE), and medical tourism.

"Tourism sector faced many external challenges, stabilisation of the new geopolitical and economic situation this year, therefore it is very important to develop tourism services that could generate higher added value," pointed out Kitija Tigule, the President of the Association of Latvian Travel Agents and Operators (ALTA) and noted that the forum topics had been chosen in view of the current events.

Early next year, bringing together representatives of the tourism industry for the first professional gathering before the high season begins, the business forum of the Baltics’ leading travel trade fair "Balttour 2016" will discuss better opportunities for profitability in the most successful niches that are in demand worldwide and booming in the Baltic States. The first panel will evaluate the necessity to establish a congress office in Riga, get acquainted with the experience of neighbouring countries, as well as to evaluate the business prospects and meet potential partners, while the second panel will offer to get acquainted with the current events in medical tourism, and the opportunities to improve export possibilities and competitiveness in the Baltic States and Europe.

Panel discussions will feature recognized experts from Latvia and across Europe – tourism professionals who will analyze the current situation in the Baltic States, examine current possibilities and offer solutions. Working language: English.

The "Balttour 2016" business forum is open to the representatives of tourism and transport companies, medical institutions, hotels and other tourist accommodations, venues, public administration and local governments, investors and representatives of other sectors from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
