Pet Expo. Latvian Winner 2014 forthcoming in March
The largest and most popular pet show Pet Expo. Latvian Winner 2014, which will present lots of dogs, cats and other pets, will take place at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre from 22–23 March. Visitors will have an opportunity to watch exciting dog competitions, various shows and demonstrations.
Families with children and all interested persons are heartily welcome to visit Kipsala, which will be filled with a whole spectrum of animal voices for two days. Hundreds of dogs of many various breeds and a wide exposition of zoo industry goods and services at a favourable price will be on display at one of the halls. The second hall will display a wide variety of cats from close and distant countries – both long-haired and short-haired and hairless cats, as well as lively little fellows – ferrets, various decorative pigeons, roosters and fowls, and lovely decorative mice and rats, hamsters, guinea pigs and many other exotic pets. Children are welcome to enjoy inflatable amusements.
International Dog Show gathers a record number of participants
The two-day event will bring together more than 4000 dogs of 260 breeds from 16 countries. Along with the popular breeds, rare breeds will also be represented, which can be seen only in this exhibition, among which are some Japanese selected breeds as well – Shikoku, Hokkaido and Kishu, the latter of which has been officially acknowledged as the national "treasure" of Japan. The exhibition will also feature hunting breeds created in different countries of the world – Porcelaine beagle and Bourbonnais Pointer from France, Småland beagle from Sweden, Dutch Partridge Dog or Drentsche Patrijshond from the Netherlands, as well as a new breed created in the USA – American Hairless Terrier.
The 2013 Top Dog of Latvia
Both days of the exhibition will close with a magnificent selection procedure of the best dog of the exhibition. On Sunday, visitors will be able to look at the best Latvian dogs, puppies, couples and kennels, as the winners of the competition "Latvian Top Dog 2013" will be announced. Along with the assessment of breeds of dogs in the rings, visitors of the exhibition will be able to receive consultations from experienced experts as the exhibition will bring together quite a number of kennel clubs.
Titled cats at the international charity cat show
Around 300 large and small, long haired, short haired and hairless cats from close and distant countries will compete for the title "Latvian Winner 2014" at the international charity cat exhibition. The fair will present the popular British Shorthair, Burmese, Persian, Turkish Angora cats as well as such rarities as the Russian Blue, Bengal, Devon Rex, Cornwall Rex, Bobtail and many other cats. The cats will be evaluated by experts from Belgium, Poland and Latvia.
Visitors will be able to watch the shows with Maine Coon, Oriental, Highland Fold and Scottish Straight cats, as well as many different rings, where experts will share their experience and talk about the best qualities and breed particularities of each participant of the cat exhibition. Of special interest to visitors will certainly be the Champion show, where only the most awarded cats will have the right to participate, beginning from the champions to the World champions. The culmination of the cat exhibition will be the final competition where visitors will see the best representatives of different breeds, who, in a tough competition, will compete for the title of the best cat. On Sunday, 23 March, the best exhibition's participants of the Latvian Felinology Association “Felimurs” in 2013, who have been diligent in collecting titles and points throughout the entire year, will be awarded. All participants of the exhibition are welcome to take delight in photographing and take some pictures with the champions and the World champions.
Visitors are welcome to donate for the project of Jugla Animal Shelter – sterilisation of street cats.
International obedience competitions
International obedience competitions will take place by gathering sportsmen from different countries to prove that a dog is not only a great friend but also a great sports partner. The honour of the winning title will be given to the owners of the most obedient four-legged friends.
Visitors will be able to watch a variety of dog agility shows, dog fashion shows and gain insight into canistherapy watching a specially trained and certified dog suitable for this method of healing in action. Kids will have an opportunity to cuddle and play with these wonderful dogs.

The event is an opportunity to combine entertainment with practical things as there will be represented many pet food distributors, veterinary clinics and pharmacies, manufacturers and sellers of pet accessories offering food, nutrition additives, accessories – brushes, collars, leads, coats, shampoos – everything your four-legged friend might need!
